Chiropractic vs. Medicine

In simple terms, Chiropractic acknowledges the self-healing capabilities of the human body and attempts to restore those mechanisms to achieve better health. Western Medicine takes a more invasive and aggressive approach by attempting to alter the function of the body through drugs or surgery in order to “fix” the defective part.

In many situations, conventional medicine is essential and often miraculous. Surgical intervention can save lives and many of the technological advances are simply astounding.

That said, there are issues concerning the overutilization of such impressive, yet invasive procedures. Unfortunately when these procedures are over used, the problems created are often more damaging than the original condition. The same can be said about the pharmaceutical industry, maybe more so.

Medical error, prescription drugs and surgical complications result in 80-100,000 deaths each year.  The most important decision you face is which form of treatment you seek.

We promote a conservative approach to any health issue. Start with the least invasive methods and safest alternatives. If there are no results, continue with more aggressive treatments until you have achieved the level of health you deserve.

While we focus on the underlying cause of your body’s dysfunction, western medicine tends to focus on treating symptoms, often ignoring the very cause of the pain.  Like many natural health disciplines, chiropractic taps into the human body’s self healing capabilities.  This approach is infinitely more safe and often more effective.

Under many situations, your body can fix itself, given the opportunity and the appropriate conditions. Chiropractic simply establishes the optimal conditions for your body to operate efficiently.
